Personal Sustainability for Resilient Humans

Sustainable people drive sustainable businesses

SUSTAIN: The Personal Sustainability Keynote

As part of your ESG strategy it’s important to consider the sustainability of your most important resource – your people. Sustainable people drive sustainable businesses, and we need sustainable people to solve the world’s meaningful problems, and the challenges that your business will face, whether that’s sales, innovation or increasing market share.
Personal Sustainability is having the tools, resources and mindset to promote and maintain good wellbeing, which is vital to sustain high performance.

In this engaging and interactive keynote, Leanne uses the power of storytelling to inspire your teams to prioritise wellbeing and to develop lasting habits that ensure they have the energy, resilience and motivation required for high performance – what we call a Personal Sustainability Plan. Personal Sustainability is about developing resilience, managing change and being fit for the rigours of working life, and is based on four core ideas.

Values

identity

Community

Resources

In this unique keynote Leanne discusses what Personal Sustainability is and how you can develop it, including a focus on:

Values – what’s important to you and what’s the code you live by?

Values are the foundations upon which habits are built and what we value gets prioritised. Having a strong sense of values creates the energy and motivation to overcome barriers to change and develop consistent habits, which has a huge benefit for businesses. Are your leaders embodying the values of wellbeing within your high performing business?

Identity – who do you want to be and what’s your impact in the world?

A positive sense of identity can help people feel good about themselves and can be a source of strength and motivation when faced with adversity. Does your culture inspire a strong sense of purpose and belonging?

Community – supporting, and being supported by the people around you.

Community can also increase trust, which drives productivity and improves collaboration; contributes to increasing psychological safety and promotes authenticity in the workplace. How can you build a strong sense of community within your culture?

Resources – do you have habits and routines that keep you healthy and resilient?

The toolkit that supports good wellbeing for each individual. This can include mental health techniques, sleep, energy, mood and physical strength. Teams are encouraged to create their own personal sustainability plan through the practice of daily non-negotiables. What resources does your business provide for your teams?

Outcomes include:

  • Overcome barriers to change by connecting to values and identity
  • Overcome the sense of guilt many people have about prioritising wellbeing
  • Learn to deal with the fast pace of change that has become the new normal
  • Develop the tools and mindset required to thrive in a high-performance culture
