The Brief
This was the first post-pandemic staff conference where all 350 employees were brought together at the Ullswater Centre in the beautiful Lake District. The brief was about helping staff to find balance, empowering their employees to take control over their wellbeing and have a sense of autonomy. OBT wanted a dynamic speaker who could meeting the brief but also have the skills and experience to handle a larger audience at 9am on a Sunday morning!
The Solution
Leanne had several briefing calls to learn about the trust and it’s work, and to ensure the content, tone and delivery style would work well with an audience of outdoors folk who are not part of the corporate world. Leanne opened up the talk with a question and interaction with the audience, which immediately established rapport and made for a very successful 45 mins. The important topic of burnout was handled by Leanne with humour, lightness and ease whilst still landing the critical elements of the Cadence Approach. Empowering employees with relatable practical advice they could take ownership of.
Results
OBT, including CEO Martin and Deputy Patron Sir Chris Bonington, as well as the audience were delighted with the talk and how much buzz it created for the rest of the day. Within minutes of leaving, Leanne received multiple messages on social media from audience members who were feeling empowered, motivated and inspired to make small changes to their lifestyle or way of thinking.
